The WSMC is engaged in various instructional technology projects that go beyond the scope of our daily routine activities, but are important nevertheless, to remain informed of technology trends in higher education, particularly as they relate to the humanities and global studies. The purpose of these ongoing instructional development projects is to explore:

  • Routinizing and streamlining E-Tandem Learning (Teletandem)
  • Development of a Student E-Portfolio program to better prepare our graduates for launching their careers
  • 21st century approach to language learning including development of course content creation for online modules, flipped classroom projects, future SWS MOOCS, and ultimately a self-guided foreign language curriculum for 100 to 300-level language courses
  • Developing an improved plan for assessing the placement and achievement of our foreign language students
